The sea is around the corner, as well as the dunes with many possibilities for walking and cycling. Wijk aan Zee is a nice seaside village with the broadest beach of North-Holland. Wijk aan Zee combines quietness with liveliness. Around the church in the village you will find several bars and restaurants and on the beach there are many beach clubs. Distance to Amsterdam is only 22 kilometres and is within easy reach by train and hydrofoil. Also Alkmaar and Haarlem are not far away. Every weekend there is a bazar at Beverwijk.
