Hungaria Palace Hotel (Venice-Lido, Italy)
Built in 1905 - at the beginning of the fortune of the Lido of Venice as an exclusive holiday resort - in Renaissance style, the Hungaria Palace Hotel was enriched in 1914 by covering the entire facade with polychromatic majolica tiles.
The work, created by Luigi Fabris, the famous ceramist from Bassano was completed before the first world war; it is a unique example of the expansion, even in Venice, of a Viennese flavour for facade decoration.
Furniture in 60 rooms is original and was made by the famous master ebanist Eugenio Quarti (1867-1929), one of the leading artists of italian Art Nouveau.
